The YENESIS [Youth Employment Network for Energy Sustainability in Islands] project aimed to reduce youth unemployment in the islands of Europe by promoting green, sustainable professions. In this project, the Cyprus Energy Office was the coordinator of a consortium of 10 organizations, where through a series of training, mentoring and job placement actions, individuals aged 25-29 years were prepared to enter the green professions market. The four main areas addressed by the project were (1) Energy Efficiency, (2) Renewable Energy Sources, (3) Sustainable Tourism and (4) Sustainable Transport. Emphasis was also given to Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The project was funded by the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. It was followed by the YENESIS 2.0 project. to strengthen the action of the first. To find out more, contact us at +357 22667716.
