"The transport sector is the most important source of greenhouse gas emissions in Cyprus, as it relies almost entirely on the use of fossil fuels, with significant implications for human health and the environment. At the same time, the approach based on the service exclusively of the use of the private vehicle, is expected to lead in the near future to a "locking" of the road networks in the urban centers. Through the adoption of sustainable design principles and the promotion of "green" technologies, the Cyprus Energy Agency aims to contribute to the creation of "accessible, affordable and clean transport for all".
