The Cyprus Energy Office, following approval by the General Directorate of Development (GDA) on February 24, 2025, announces the 2η call for applications within the framework of the "Grant Scheme for Strengthening Resilience and Adaptation of Communities to Climate Change".
The Grants Scheme is included in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), and is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM) of the European Union (Next Generation EU) with a total budget of 2.900.000 euros. The total budget for the second phase of the Scheme amounts to 500.000 euro.
With the aim of adapting and strengthening the resilience of communities to climate change, and increasing the level of well-being of citizens, the Plan assists in the implementation of investments by Community Councils to mitigate and mitigate the impacts of climate change - mainly high temperatures and flooding -, as well as investments in sustainable mobility.
The second announcement of the Scheme covers the following three (3) categories of investments:
- Expenses for consulting services for participation in the Plan and successful implementation of the interventions
- Investments that enhance the adaptation and resilience of Communities to climate change (Relates exclusively to tree planting in public spaces and the installation of relevant urban equipment)
- Investments in sustainable mobility infrastructure (Regards exclusively the development of nature trails)
It is noted that the Plan will subsidize the 100% of the cost on the eligible expenses, with a maximum grant amount per application €50.000, and a minimum of €10.000.
The right to participate is exclusively reserved for Community Councils, Partnerships of Community Councils and Community Service Clusters of Cyprus.
- Start of submission of applications: 28/02/2025
- Application deadline: 06/06/2025, 11:45 p.m., or until the available budget is exhausted, whichever comes first

The Implementing Agency of the Grant Scheme is the Energy Office of Cyprus and the Support Agency is the Union of Cyprus Communities.
