TOPIC: Energy upgrade of an existing school building, within the framework of the project "Creation of Zero Energy Schools" of the THALEIA 2021-2027 program and the European Technical Assistance project PEDIA (Promoting Energy efficiency & Developing Innovative Approaches in schools Promoting Energy Efficiency & Developing Innovative Approaches in Schools).
Through the Cohesion Policy Program "THALEA 2021-2027» the construction part of the project is co-financed, while the technical support part is financed through the European Union PDA (Project Development Assistance) program of Horizon 2020 and the project PEDIA.
During the project, pilot applications of energy upgrades are being carried out in a total of 25 existing school buildings of all levels. The interventions implemented in the selected school buildings include the following and are in compliance with the requirements of national legislation for the Energy Performance of Buildings:
- Installation of a photovoltaic system,
- Thermal insulation of ceilings and masonry,
- window replacement,
- Replacing lighting with LED lamps,
- Replacement of ventilation systems,
- Plantings.
In this context, the Cyprus Energy Office is proceeding with the announcement of a new open tender, with a total budget of € 990.000, for the energy upgrade* of the Agios Theodoros Junior High School in the Paphos district, which has been selected through the project PEDIA.
*The project is implemented within the framework of the Cohesion Policy Programme "THALEA 2021-2027", with the co-financing of the European Union.
Interested parties are invited to submit their bids through the Electronic Contracting System, #eProcurement, until September 11, 2026, time 16:00.
