Until the deadline for submitting applications for the Grant Scheme for Strengthening the Resilience and Adaptation of Communities to Climate Change, 29 Community Councils submitted an application and 15 of them (see below) secured funds to implement Climate Adaptation actions. Six additional applications are under consideration.
Currently, the proposals that have secured funding fall under the B' and C' Investment Categories of the Grants Scheme (Investments to Strengthen Community Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change and Investments in Sustainable Mobility infrastructure respectively). The Grants Scheme is included in the National Recovery & Resilience Plan and is funded by the EU Recovery & Resilience Mechanism (Next Generation EU) with a total budget of €2.900.000. The implementing body of the Scheme is the Cyprus Energy Office and the supporting body is the Cyprus Communities Union.
