A particularly special and important day was Saturday, September 13, 2025, for the Communities and the local society of the Tillyria Complex. The day on which the Founding Act of the Tillyria Energy Community was signed, at the buildings of the Kato Pyrgos Community Council.
The founding members of the Energy Community are the Community Councils of Kato Pyrgos, Pano Pyrgos, Pachyammos, Mosfilio and Pigaenia. The Energy Community will be able to collectively contribute to serving the energy needs of residents, businesses and the Communities in general, with Renewable Energy Sources (RES), energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and climate resilience projects, which were selected taking into account the specificities and opportunities presented in the region. Residents and businesses will be able to have active participation in the bodies and decisions made by the Energy Community, as well as direct benefits, such as the use of electricity from RES and the implementation of actions to address energy poverty.

The Founding Act was welcomed by the President of the Tillyria Complex, Mr. Nikos Cleanthous, who expressed his satisfaction with the actions taken to launch projects for the substantial support of the Tillyria Communities. It was followed by greeting by the President of the Cyprus Communities Union and the Cyprus Energy Office, Mr. Andreas Kitromilidis, who praised the Communities for their participation and adoption of this effort, and congratulated the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, the Office of the Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare and the Secretariat for Coordination and Support of the Government Project, for taking decisions and promoting actions for the region. In his greeting, Mr. Kitromilidis particularly congratulated the Cyprus Energy Office for undertaking the implementation of this difficult, complex and pioneering project, which, as it turns out, manages to bring it to fruition with its expertise, dedication and consistency.
