In line with the European “Twin Transition” policy, the goal of the Go_Green [Computing Power Goes Green] project was the green-digital transition. In other words, it aimed to adopt an integrated approach to create combined green and digital transformation initiatives at national and transnational level, leading to a greener operation of digital infrastructures and data centers.
This approach refers to the monitoring, evaluation and promotion of twin investments, where digital transformation is placed under the lens of green growth. The evaluation framework and monitoring mechanisms developed during the project promote green-digital investments and strengthen twin transitions by creating a certification system for the public and private sectors.
The project activities include:
- An observatory for the evaluation of the energy efficiency of digital infrastructures (Trend recording, analysis of parameters that affect the green digital transition, creation of a barometer, promotion)
- Comparative evaluation of results between the participating countries
- Preparation of an action plan for a green digital transition (roadmap)
- Good practices, Certificate, Actions
- Pilot applications
The project was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, through the Interreg Balkan-MED program. Press here to learn more.
