The ELECTRA project [Modernising the distribution grid for enabling high penetration of photovoltaic electricity through Advanced data analytic operational observability and management] aimed to increase the effectiveness of the Cyprus Research & Innovation system by modernising the island's electricity grid and energy sector, to enable further penetration of photovoltaic electricity. photovoltaic systems [PV].
This was made possible through the development of a multi-service distribution management platform, to monitor and control distribution channels in real and forecast time, with increasing PV shares. As a result, the project significantly contributed to environmental protection, economic development, the development of synergies between the research, business, policy and public sectors, and the creation of an appropriate national framework for the alignment of Cyprus with the European Commission's Energy Union Roadmap.
