CONTENT
| Module 1: Establish the Energy Management Framework | This module introduces SMEs to the basics of structured energy management, highlighting why energy efficiency matters and how it delivers benefits beyond cost savings, such as productivity, quality, and health and safety. Participants learn to assess their current energy performance, identify key processes and roles, and understand their organisation’s energy maturity. The module also introduces energy policies, documentation, and SMART targets, enabling participants to define clear first steps towards an effective energy management framework. |
| Module 2: Energy Audits, Data Collection and Setting Energy Performance Targets | This module develops practical skills in analyzing energy use and converting data into measurable energy performance targets. Participants learn how to define baselines, calculate energy performance indicators (EnPIs), apply data normalisation, and understand the value of energy audits. Using real world examples and hands on platform work, the module enables participants to set realistic, data driven and SMART energy efficiency targets. |
| Module 3: Implementation of Energy Saving Measures | Focusing on energy saving actions, this module guides participants in identifying, evaluating, and prioritising energy saving measures, from low cost to investment intensive solutions. It covers where inefficiencies occur, how to assess economic and non energy benefits, and how to compare solutions using life cycle criteria. Through practical use of the IMPAWATT platform, participants gain the skills needed to move from analysis to effective implementation. |
| Module 4: Energy Management – Monitoring and Continuous Improvement | This module focuses on embedding energy efficiency into daily operations through systematic monitoring and continuous improvement. Participants learn when and how to implement an energy management system (EnMS), apply the PDCA cycle, and assess organisational maturity. The module strengthens skills in monitoring, reviews, audits, and employee engagement, enabling organisations to sustain energy performance improvements over time. |
