The BLUE DEAL [Blue Energy Deployment Alliance] project aimed to create a favourable environment for Blue Energy investments, capitalising on its potential in harmony with regulatory, environmental and social constraints. In this context, a series of workshops were implemented, which contributed to the analysis of the blue energy potential and the development of a Blue Energy Plan for each country participating in the project - including Cyprus. Subsequently, a Plan was developed for decision-makers, for the introduction of blue energy into regional/national strategies, and a Protocol addressed to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and investors, to support businesses operating in this sector.

Through its action, the project managed to increase transnational activity among innovative groups and networks in the Blue Energy sector, to develop links and synergies between SMEs, public authorities, educational institutions and social organizations, and to establish transnational and regional Blue Deal Alliances.

The project was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, through the Interreg-MED program. Click here to learn more.
