Soulla Karra is a qualified Civil Engineer (BSc), graduated from the Frederick University, Cyprus, in 2011. On 2012, she obtained her MSc in Civil Engineering Structures from the City University, UK. She is a member of the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus. She has also been trained to become a qualified International Assessor of BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment), and she has attended multiple training courses in Sustainable Construction, Passive Houses, Energy Efficiency of Buildings.

She started her career as a Junior Engineer in the Ministry of Interior Cyprus, where she was involved in the monitoring and management of the marketing of construction materials, and in the preparation of legislations regarding the Building and Planning, Construction Materials, and Energy Efficiency in Buildings. In February 2019, she joined the Cyprus Energy Agency as a Civil Engineer, and since then, she is involved in the Energy Efficiency of Buildings, the implementation of training activities for students in local society, as well as in the provision of technical support for the implementation of energy-related projects. Since 2023, she is also the coordinator of the Cyprus Energy Agency’s team Energy Efficiency of Buildings. Last, but not least, she participates in European co-funded projects as a technical expert, and she is involved in projects, such as the development of a flexible learning pathway focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy promotion projects.
