Maria Achilleos is Architect Engineer, graduate of the Polytechnic School of the University of Thessaly in Greece, 2014. 2015 has graduated with her postgraduate studies in Environmental Design (MSc) at the University of Bath, England. She began her career as an Architect, focusing among other things on the creation of Nearly Zero Energy Consumption Buildings (CSSC) and on the upgrading of the Energy Performance of existing buildings. He is a member of the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK), a specialized expert (for the energy certification of buildings) and is accredited for the design of CSSC. He has also attended training courses and vocational training programs for Passive Buildings, Energy Performance of Buildings, Bioclimatic Design and Energy Audits of Buildings.
He is employed by the Energy Office of Cypriot Citizens by 2017 as an Architect Engineer specializing in Energy and Environmental Design. He is responsible for projects related to the use of energy in buildings, the energy upgrading of existing buildings and the use of Renewable Energy in Buildings. It participates in studies, activities and actions that promote the sustainable design of buildings and sites, the protection of cultural heritage in the light of current standards, the energy performance of buildings, the fair use of energy in buildings, and addressing and adapting to climate change. Finally, he participates in European co-funded projects as a technical expert and is familiar with various software and tools for Architectural Design, Energy Management and Energy Efficiency.
