Harris Kordatos is an Environmentalist / Forester, graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2006 and holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Biology from the same University. He joined 2009 at the Energy Office of Cypriot Citizens and specializes in issues related to the environmental impacts of the RES installation. the landscape and the exploitation of biomass from timber. He has been trained in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and has extensive experience in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) concerning the installation of large scale RES projects. Finally, he is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the environmental studies.
Harris is also familiar with Sustainable Energy and Climate Action (SECAPs) Covenant of Mayors methodology and supports local authorities to implement sustainable actions and projects to adapt to climate change. It participates in the supportive Green Public Procurement (GPP) structure and supports the Office's vision by providing guidance and education to public and local authorities as well as participating in various GPM networks and discussions.
He also participates in various co-funded European and national projects related to sustainable use of RES, environmental management and green policies as an expert and coordinator. From 2015, he is also responsible for the overall management and submission of various EU programs. and initiatives at the Office.
Finally, he attended training for pellet manufacturer controllers in accordance with the European Pellet Council (EPC) Certification System and is Certified Auditor (SCC 34 / 12) Environmental Management Systems in accordance with ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 19011: 2011 .
